Didn't activate DOCP? The system ran sluggishly. Consider upgrading to a Crucial 3200C16 kit supporting 3200Hz with a first-gen Ryzen. Links provided for 32GB or 16GB options.

Is the 1866 DDR4 model currently available for consumers? The fastest I've encountered is 2133 from Skylake's initial launch. It seems you likely didn't turn on DOCP or your processor doesn't back that memory type, which isn't surprising when comparing to Zen 1.

You're likely checking the speed shown by software in the operating system. The base speed for DDR4 is 2133 MHz, so you probably don't need to upgrade your memory.

A Zen 3 CPU can handle a tough challenge. Mems should perform well if they were previously good. Still, there’s a broad selection of DDR4 available now at reasonable costs.

Using four sticks doesn’t boost performance beyond 1866 on the first-gen Ryzen. Does your 16GB RAM equate to 4x4GB?
