Hello everyone. I'm planning to switch from my Pentium G2020 to an i5-2400 soon. Will this result in much quicker loading times and improved performance for apps like Filmora9, Photoshop, and other CPU-heavy tasks? Will the i5-2400 fit my current system? Is this a worthwhile upgrade? I won't be moving to an i7 because it's significantly more expensive and offers only Hyper Threading with a slightly higher clock speed. Can I expect at least 10 to 20 frames per second improvement in games such as GTA V, GTA V, and CSGO (without overclocking)? Lastly, should I reinstall Windows after installing the new CPU? My specs are: Intel Pentium G2020 → i5-2400, GTX 550 Ti, 1GB GDDR5, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Gigabyte H61M-S2PV, BIOS updated. Running Windows 7 SP1 x64. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It can assist a few people, yet you probably require an SSD for the system to noticeably improve load times in Windows and games. Mechanical drives will continue to limit your performance significantly.

It will work too, just like @Skiiwee29 mentioned. Upgrading to SSD will be a good investment and let you enjoy the extra 2400 features.
