Discussing CPU choices for PC upgrades Comparing options and benefits Choosing the right processor for performance
I just realized you mentioned "Intel platform" instead of "Intel CPU's" haha
Drawing software benchmarks are often limited to image editing or filter work, which isn’t a big part of digital drawing. I haven’t seen anything like 128GB on QVL, even though speed and models vary—I usually see around 64GB. Maybe my info is off, but the Aorus Ultra QVL seems to be the closest I’ve encountered. I wish I could plug in my RAM into a demo PC at Microcenter to test performance, but that’s not possible right now. Haha. Testing on a Ryzen 3rd generation CPU is straightforward for me since some friends already have those chips.
It seems either processor would work just fine here. I’d begin by confirming they have the latest BIOS updates for testing. Since you intend to use NVENC and aim for 60fps in games, I suggest choosing a solid B450/B550 motherboard and a Ryzen 3 3300X. If you need more performance later, consider upgrading to a next-gen chipset.
I considered two choices: install Thunderbolt (Z490 Vision D for Intel) or use the Gigabyte Titan Ridge Thunderbolt card. I won’t be using Thunderbolt just for file transfers, but to connect a display port into my Cintiq and supply power. My artist friend uses the same card with a Cintiq Pro without any problems.
I'm sorry, I misunderstood. It seems you were thinking of a setup similar to Linus with a high-speed Thunderbolt connection for PC and monitor. If this method is implemented, I have no certainty about its functionality, but if a friend successfully used it, it probably works fine.
