Hello, welcome to the site! I’m just starting out and was suggested to you all for assistance. I’m buying a new PC with the Asus X670 Prime P Wi-Fi motherboard, but I’m having trouble figuring out the sound codec used for the built-in speakers and I can’t find details about its voltage rating. I’m also looking to buy some quality gaming headphones, but the lack of information about the Ohms is making it hard to choose properly. I thought this data should be available on Asus’s official site, but it isn’t. Could anyone share the board details or confirm the codec and voltage range? Any guidance would be really helpful, this is quite frustrating.

ChatGPT mentions the Realtek ALC897 as the board's audio source. It seems uncertain about its accuracy. You might have considered USB DACs such as the Akliam PD4, Truthear Shio, or Moondrop Dawn Pro.

Beyond just resistance, headphones require consideration of sensitivity as well.

I'm stuck between headphones and headsets. I've been comparing the DT990 and DT900. I need something reliable for Discord and similar apps, but I keep hearing regular gaming headsets aren't better than studio models for FPS games. I noticed the DT990 has 250 ohms at the same price as the 80 ohms on Amazon. The DT900 is easier to power but the mic still bothers me. As someone who plays games like BF1 and MW, I want clear footsteps in audio. I'm new to DACs but if I really need one for a headset, I'll consider it. Any advice would be great!

Check the latest YouTube feedback. The Sennheiser HD 560S, Fiio JT1 (Jade Audio), and IEM options like Truthear Hexa or Simgot EM6L are popular choices.
