The initial concern is selecting a suitable tool for this task on Linux. I'm currently using PopOS and found a discussion about a command-line application, which I'd rather avoid. I'd like something with a proper interface. My GPU is a 6900 XT, and I've never used an AMD graphics card before. I'm comfortable with overclocking Nvidia cards using MSI afterburner, but I'm unsure if the same approach applies to AMD. On Windows, I rely on the automatic OC feature with Radeon software.

You might suggest sticking to the original character within BIOS settings.

I find this sufficient for overclocking, not just relying on tools like MSI Afterburner. With these latest GPUs that offer boost from both sides, I’d let the software choose the best settings unless you’re aiming for extreme LN2 overclocking. Wishing you success!

Process the request entirely in CPU mode, avoiding any GPU-related actions.

You're facing an issue where Radeon software doesn't work with PopOS. Despite having AMD GPU and Mesa drivers, many people suggest avoiding proprietary AMD drivers on Linux.

I’m curious about the ideal specs for an AMD GPU when setting up a 6900 XT. I used to rely on Nvidia chips, but with my 3080 I could usually hit around 30-40 cores, and with the memory I pushed it to about 300 for stability.
