Hi everyone, I'm weighing the 3950x against the TR 3960x for PCIe lane availability. If I choose the 3950x, pairing it with an Aorus xtreme would likely give me enough lanes to run a single GPU, a sound card, and three NVMe drives—possibly down to two if needed. The TR 3960x seems like the only clear path for that configuration. TIA

Supports x570 processor, m.2 off-chipset, m.2 off CPU, sound card integrated into chipset, GPU operates at 1080p from CPU

Except for multi-GPU setups (not SLI gaming), the X570 works well.

Sound cards aren't essential. For professional studio sound, an external interface or amplifier/dac works well. If not, built-in audio suffices. Also, three NVME SSDs aren't necessary—available sizes are 2 or 4TB, so three isn't required.

That's a huge gap in $ between the two chips and platforms but X570 should be fine like everyone else stated
