Occasionally, the problem might stem from a BIOS revision issue, which can be resolved by going back to an earlier version.

I haven’t encountered any returns before, though I’m aware the product includes a one-year warranty. Since I purchased it in 2020, the warranty likely expired. Does the RMA procedure require an additional fee?

Thanks for the advice. I've already tried flashing the board using three earlier versions, but each attempt failed. I went back further than the 5000 support and used my older 3600 to check if I could get it running again, though the CPU light kept staying on. I'll likely try this with an even older BIOS later and share the outcome then.

A one-year guarantee? It seems most MSI motherboards include a three-year warranty in the US. You might be in a different country? RMA stands for Return Merchandise Authorization, a process where you send the item back for inspection or repair, and if fixing isn’t feasible, they’ll replace it with a working refurbished unit. Usually, you cover shipping costs unless the company provides tracking details and a label to include in the packaging.

Keep in mind that beyond a certain limit, support for Zen2 may be unavailable.

Reviewed the MSI website for warranty details and confirmed it’s expired. It’s wise to reach out for any further assistance or options available.

I’ll make sure to review the bios details for Zen2 support. It seems it should already be included by default since these boards were released after Zen2 was announced. I just purchased a 2.0 16GB flash drive to test it, which appears to have worked better than what I read about. It’s surprising a motherboard would be so particular about that. I’d expect MSI to recommend only certain USB drives for the flashback process.

They likely won’t offer much beyond simple fixes they might suggest, and they’ll probably ask you to pay for the service.

I actually gave it a try leaving it idle for about ten minutes, but nothing happened—just the CPU debug light stayed on and a black screen appeared. I haven’t experienced that wait time before switching CPUs, has it become more common with these boards and chips lately? The last time I changed CPUs was two years ago.

I recently revisited the support page for MSI and encountered an issue last night where the product warranty section blocked access to the web ticket page. I managed to create a ticket specifically for the mobo. I’m hoping they’ll respond quickly and assist with resolving this problem. I’ll keep this discussion updated if I discover a solution or need to send it in for repair.
