Discussing adding every game you possess
Discussing adding every game you possess
I was thinking about how practical it would be to collect every game I own—GOG, Uplay, Steam, Origins, etc.—totaling over 140 titles. For clear reasons, you’d only want to play a short session of a title like Serious Sam, and you could keep all your progress saved and backed up at once. Has anyone tried this? Of course, a fast HDD would be ideal since many games are large and include updates. Am I misunderstanding? What can you expect?
Usually constrained by the hard disk read rate – around 40 to 50 megabytes each second.
your HDD write speed should be between 80-125 MB/s when copying strait, ofc tons of tiny files really trip mechanical hdds up. I don't know, I don't see a reason to install all games at once. I have 100Mb/s internet, halfway decent, and I have no complains reinstalling games. In fact, I almost exclusively use my SSDs for games and whatnot on my gaming pc.
I didn't remember the download speeds or upload times before. Regarding the topic, I'm wondering if with many installed games, updates might still be delayed even after patches are released.
