Discussing a Xbox One controller for PC
i use a wired XB1 controller and it works without problems as long as the game supports it. you can change key mappings or stick to the default settings. of course, this depends on each game. i don't play every game on every platform in the best way all the time. nothing is going to function perfectly, but it usually does. if you're using a wireless controller, get used to occasional connection drops and lag—it rarely works 100% of the time based on what i've seen. that's why i chose the wired option.
Which power source are you employing? You have three choices: powera, pdp, or the original controller.
good question, i had to check. lol
my device is a power controller. win 10 comes with drivers already installed, so nothing needs to be added. i've used it for about 3-4 years now and it works perfectly.
i play golf, racing, action games, and other types of games without any issues.
The controller mapping depends on the game; some require adjusting it manually, while others may handle it automatically. For titles like Skyrim or Shadow of War, you might need to revert to keyboard and mouse instead.
that i don't know. most of what i play requires either a controller or a keyboard. if i start using the keyboard, it takes over automatically, but if i use the controller, it adjusts accordingly and defaults that way.
either way, it's easy to set up settings on the first try and map any keys or buttons you prefer. i wouldn't really be concerned about this. i haven't had to force myself to use one method instead of the other if i didn't want to.
