Discussing a RAM dual-channel 4 slot device
@Chris Yahya , I'm saying this because your name sounds Indonesian, so if you do live in Indonesia. Keep in mind it isn't 100% guaranteed that the new RAM module will work nicely with the one you already have when it's about XMP/DOCP, even though it's the same model, even a difference of IC used can make them not play nice together. When it happens we usually suggest setting the RAM manually (not through XMP/DOCP). So if that is not okay with you, well...... For others that doesn't understand why I'm saying what I said above : Because in Indonesia you can't return something you bought unless it's truly defective & not working, and at most it will only be change with a new unit, pay more to upgrade to a higher tier unit, or lose some money and get a lower tier, not refund.
Yeah, there’s definitely more than just the oddity about that B350 board. Like, at one point the bios said I’m a total newbie and told me not to touch anything—*in Chinese*... haha. Never saw that message again, but it was pretty funny : D
I've been using four sticks for years on Intel and AMD. When possible, I upgraded to six sticks on X58—probably just luck. I rely on G.Skill RAM, often with Tridents.
Our main idea seems solid—good RAM should function, poor RAM will cause issues: D
