Sure, Vash, it’s possible to upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 5 5600x without a full Windows reinstall. Just check if your motherboard supports the newer chip and make sure your power supply and cooler can handle the higher performance. Your current setup should work as long as the BIOS is compatible.

Upgrading should be fine as long as you install the correct BIOS update that brings you to at least AGESA 1.1.0.0. Many makers have released AGESA 1.2.0.0 for B450 and B550 models, and it seems to function similarly.

Before the change, chipset drivers supported older CPUs too. The updated versions also work with them.
