I've been considering upgrading my CPU for a while. I haven't been achieving the desired FPS, so I think it's time to upgrade. I was thinking about getting an Arours/gigabyte Z370 gaming 5 motherboard and wanted to upgrade to an I9 9900K. I wondered if a BIOS update would work, but I haven't found any information on it. Right now, I'm looking for the most affordable option and plan to get another motherboard later. Should I go with the i7 10700K for better value, or is there another option? Also, I need to think about adding a cooler since my current one won't handle the heat. If I decide on a motherboard, which one would be more budget-friendly?

I checked the site and saw AnAndtech is a trusted place for information. They have board charts, and I think the 9900k will need a decent air cooler—don’t let it get too hot.

You're experiencing lower than expected FPS on your Z370 with an i9 9900K. Let's clarify your system specs first: what are the CPU, RAM, storage, and graphics details? That way we can pinpoint the cause.

You're upgrading from an older processor to a newer one. Your current setup includes an i5 8400 and an RTX 2070, which should handle modding tasks. The i9 9900K is a powerful upgrade that could significantly boost performance, especially if you're diving into more demanding projects.
