Hey, you're feeling a bit anxious about your system. I understand why you're concerned with the temperatures. You mentioned using a Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler on an Asus z390-F, and you're seeing peaks around 74-77°C in HWInfo. However, your room temperature is about 22°C, and the inside of your PC is cooler thanks to the Fractal Design R6. The fans are running at 20% due to noise, and the cooler's ultra-quiet mode is affecting performance. It seems like the temperatures you're seeing are mostly inside the case, not on the chip. Are you sure your stock CPU is running at 65-70°C under light overclock? That might be normal depending on the workload.

Suggest better airflow for this CPU, as it tends to get very hot by default. Did you adjust the fan speed yet?

The case fans get quite noisy at about half power already. That means I wouldn’t use them. The ones I mentioned are completely silent. Still, I updated my first block. Those topics come up while playing.

It's simple to verify if the dark rock is the issue by monitoring the temperature inside the case during play.

Which fans are you employing? Are the sounds you hear coming from the actual fan or from air restriction caused by the front panel? What kind of fan arrangement did you choose? Ensure your cooler and case fans are cooperating rather than conflicting, as swapping a fan backward might disrupt airflow. If your case fans aren’t circulating air quickly enough, the CPU cooler won’t receive sufficient cooling, leading to higher temperatures. Insufficient case ventilation or low RPM on the fans will result in increased temps.

I own this product page: Fractal Design R6 Solid PCGH Tower Use. The included 3 Venturi HF-14 Black units should work well. But for a quiet setup, these are the loudest components overall. Even at 20% load, you can hear them up to a meter away, while the rest remains silent. In testing, they ran at about 40-50% during shipment in Cod MW, with a peak angle of 66° in-game (compared to ~60° previously). I’ll verify this with 20% usage in another batch and share updates.

Checked the performance at 20% load—it gets noticeably hotter. All cores reached higher temperatures, nearing 70°C. The previous reading was around 66°C with a slight spike. Could the fans be underperforming in this scenario?

I'm not sure if I'd label them as trash, but those Fractal fans aren't the most quiet. Are you wondering if your motherboard is using mult-core enhancement by default? I don't know if they turned it off in recent models. These temperatures aren't dangerous, but lowering them might make sense with your powerful cooler—you could try undervolting to see if you can reduce heat.

The BIOS setting for Multicore Enhancement is currently "Auto - let Asus optimize." This means cores are displayed at 4.7 GHz. If it's disabled, not all cores would be shown at that frequency. You're wondering about undervolting and whether to adjust the case fans—like QuietOn1 or Noctua. There are many options, especially with the variety of 140s available from both brands, but it's hard to pick the best silent fans without more details. You're looking for top-performing quiet fans that outperform your current setup.
