Hello, your setup at 5900x with the Noctua D15S + Phantek P500A is working fine. The stress test in AIDA64 showed stable performance—no major issues detected. During gameplay, occasional spikes to around 80-83°C on one cooler were normal and not harmful.

Max was at 85°C? That's ideal for AIDA configurations. This represents the lowest possible scenario when you strain the cache and FSP also.

CCD1 tends to run warmer, especially under higher heat conditions. I'm curious about what might cause that.

Pressure distribution might be uneven. Standard coolers concentrate pressure at the center of the heat spreader, whereas AMD positions dies off-center. Historically, chips were centered in the package, which made a slightly curved middle more practical. Sanding or lapping both the IHS and cooler cold plate isn’t usually worthwhile. Der8aur created an offset cooler but it could cause clearance problems on your motherboard. Otherwise, consider alternative coolers or remount after cleaning thoroughly with premium paste.

I attempted to reposition the NH-D15 multiple times but had no success. I experimented with different methods of applying thermal paste, using a used credit card—its plastic was effective, though it was just a matter of personal preference.
