This situation might indicate several possibilities: 1) no internet connection available; you can test by running a ping to 8.8.8.8, if successful you’re online—otherwise it should report "network unreachable." 2) internet is present but DNS server issues or incorrect configuration; try pinging www.google.com to verify DNS resolution. 3) your mirror list is outdated. Update it by editing /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist with a local mirror file and rerun pacman.

You can use any mirror that suits your needs, but popular choices include Arch Linux mirrors and the official repositories. Make sure to verify the latest packages there.

When the network status shows as unreachable, it indicates no internet access at all—this isn't related to the mirrorlist. This situation might be due to a recent setup or change. After establishing a connection, choose a mirror from your region and consider having multiple options available for backup purposes.

You're experiencing issues with your VMWare setup where the network adapter is set to NAT. To resolve this, you may need to adjust the network settings in VMWare or configure your host system to allow proper NAT functionality. Consult your specific VMWare documentation for detailed steps.

You haven’t completed the setup yet. The system is running but isn’t functioning properly. To fix this, enable the dhcp service as shown.
