I had never tried MGS before, but my first reaction during the tutorial was surprised—like, 'Hmm, Ishmael... cool to see Snake so early...' and then questioning why I wasn't playing Snake right away. It seems I didn’t maintain enough belief in the experience throughout that session. Plus, it really took away from the enjoyment of the game.
