You're excited about Skyrim! For enhancing your experience, consider adding graphical mods like V-Sync, FPS Limiters, and texture packs. The most popular choice is the Nexus mod pack, which offers a wide range of improvements. Make sure to check reviews and compatibility before installing.

I believe my available RAM is just under 2GB, which could be a problem. "ENB" usually refers to the embedded network block in networking hardware.

You can add ENB mods (lighting effects) and try a few to find your favorites. Consider installing 'Dual Hand Combo Hotkeys' on the Nexus for convenience. SkyUI and SKSE are essential, though you might download them separately. Replacer items such as CBBE or UNP can be useful, especially with armor mods. Eye and face mods like natural eyes and softer textures improve appearance. Mod Organizer is a great tool to streamline your setup. Don’t hesitate to ask for assistance if needed. EDIT: Also consider unofficial patches—they’re popular and well-recommended. Only get the standard ones if you don’t have the DLC.

You can also adjust certain followers alongside the follower update, which can lead to some fascinating side characters.

The mods you installed aren't appearing in the plugins section of Nexus Mod Manager. You can't update them either. Checking the mods in the Nexus mod folder reveals they're stored as .rar or 7z files (unextracted).

I haven't ever used Nexus Mod Manager before. Now I'm using Mod Organizer. Games from Nexus come in .rar/.zip/.7z files, but Mod Organizer is needed to unpack them so they appear in the game. Not sure what else you can do though. You might want to try installing Skyrim with Mod Organizer—I've used it and I can recommend it. You could even configure it so that when you click "DOWNLOAD (NMM)" on Nexus, it automatically saves the file to Mod Organizer.

The recommended adjustments beyond lighting and texture include (the specific mods I favor): (Grass mods like Lush Grass) Flower mods such as HD Plants and Herbs (Water mods like Pure Waters) Snow mods including Dynamic Snow (Night sky mods like Vibrant Auroras now are preferred, though I previously used a star one) Blood mods with Enhanced Blood Textures (Fire mods like Better Embers) and other non-graphics mods: The Towns and Villages Enhanced series for more flora in towns, wildlife mods featuring birds and foxes, a map mod with improved road details and clearer markers, plus the Sound of Skyrim series for richer audio. SKSE and SkyUI as well.)
