Hello! Your choice of Manjaro Linux sounds great, but it’s understandable to feel unsure about supporting multiple desktop environments. As someone who works with software development and uses tools like Krita, DaVinci Resolve, Blender, and various games, you’ll likely appreciate how different environments suit different tasks. Many users set up separate profiles on Manjaro to tailor their experience—each environment can have its own settings, applications, and even user accounts. It’s not a one-size-fits-all situation; flexibility is key. If you’re curious about specific options or need help configuring profiles, feel free to ask!

Manjaro offers a variety of options, but it mainly serves similar purposes. You can set up various profiles and desktop environments within the same account, though mixing them can lead to inconsistencies and problems with software performance.

Manjaro offers solid stability. For optimal multi-monitor use, KDE edition is recommended. Gnome works too, though customization options are limited. XFCE is lightweight and worth looking into, but I’ve faced issues with dual monitors.

I appreciate KDE for its appearance, but XFCE stands out as my top choice for a desktop environment due to its simplicity and light weight. It lets you tailor it to your specific needs. Remember, a desktop isn’t just an app collection—it’s a flexible platform that can adapt to your workflow. Experiment with different Live USBs to find what feels right immediately, then install the essentials after finalizing the system. Even then, you’ll have the freedom to tweak and switch between various environments or window managers. It’s natural to try out multiple options before committing to one, especially since it’s free and low-risk.

I've always preferred KDE, but recently moved to XFCE. KDE needs some adjustments to install things like an NVIDIA graphics driver. XFCE seems to handle it smoothly. For me, it's lightweight and highly customizable—Manjaro’s version mimics KDE but runs faster and uses fewer resources. Gnome is the most popular desktop environment, though it can be a bit heavy and sometimes unstable, but it offers a nice interface. It has great extension support. I haven’t used Mate and Cinnamon much, so I can’t comment on them. Hope this helps!
