The idea of adding more memory to a specific laptop seems unlikely. Checking the manual could provide some guidance, as manuals have become less common with thinner designs. Previously, most laptops had two DIMM slots, but now many come with one soldered and one removable, and sometimes all memory is permanently attached. It wouldn’t be surprising if the answer to this question is simply “no.”

You have two slots available. You can easily check if you need 2666 MHz or if you should go to a higher frequency. Your maximum limit depends on your specific setup.

The straightforward method involves using the QVL. Intel systems no longer require it, though they still maintain them. A list of memory modules will be provided by the manufacturer after testing the laptop. This approach is practical since the laptop already contains detailed specifications for those components. It should appear in your user manual.
