I thought it could be useful to share our journey, the challenges we faced and the good moments. I’ll begin since I own a 5800X. After the previous hiccup with Windows activation and needing to reinstall, everything finally came together but the maximum clock speed remained at 4.2GHz. After some tweaking, I discovered in the BIOS of my Asus B550-F there’s an option named “Asus performance enhancer” that was turned off. I enabled it and the speed jumped to 4.7GHz. I’m also noticing frequent PC freezes, especially when background programs are running, even opening Task Manager is tough. Fortunately, in games and heavy tasks it works smoothly, though I’m currently stuck with a GPU bottleneck. The 3080 is still on its way, but I’m content as long as it ships soon.
