Hello everyone,
I previously mentioned this in March, but I had to delay the new build. My apologies for that. This time I’m planning to assemble a fresh PC and will need some assistance choosing components, as I’m not very experienced with this.

Approximate Purchase Date:
1-3 weeks

Budget Range:
1500-2500€

System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Gaming, light work, entertainment, basic programming, internet. For everything except gaming, my old PC would suffice.

Are you buying a monitor?
No

Parts to Upgrade:
new build

Do you need to buy an operating system?
Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
I am Austrian and the top site for searching parts is geizhals.at
Location: Vienna, Austria

Parts Preferences:
AMD CPU, NVIDIA GPU
Overclocking: maybe
Multiple GPUs: no

Monitor Resolution:
2K (upgrade to 4K possible later)

Additional Comments:
I don’t care about the appearance; a grey/ochre case from the early 2000s would be fine. Performance is what matters most.
I’ve already selected parts for two units on my geizhals.at wishlist. If it’s not too rude, I’d appreciate it if both could be reviewed. Right now I can build a 5080 for 2400€ and a 5070Ti for 1800€, but I might be overspending or underspending on one. I’m leaning toward the 5080, though I could rethink if the 5070Ti is significantly cheaper and only about 15-20% less performant. None of the parts I chose are fixed, just because I didn’t know better.

5070Ti idea:
https://geizhals.at/wishlists/4731426

5080 idea:
5080 | Wunschlisten Geizhals Österreich
5080 | Wunschlisten
geizhals.at

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
My old 2700x RTX 2070 setup is really struggling with games like MHWILD and POE2. Even wow.

EDIT: I also need to mention for the lists I’ve posted, I’m completely unsure about cooling requirements and case compatibility—I mostly relied on price estimates.

EDIT2: My maximum budget is 2500€, but I’d really prefer it to be lower if possible without hurting performance too much.

Thank you very much in advance. I know I post infrequently, but whenever I do, you all are so helpful.
Cheers

Sure thing! If you had a bit more, would you invest it in something valuable or keep it for now?

I would follow exactly what @Why_Me recommended, but improve the PSU, upgrade the motherboard, and change the case to these models. It should still cost under 2150 Euro. You might think about going up to a 5080 or choosing a 9800X3D instead of the 7800X3D.

As a WoW player, the 9800x3d seems like my best choice. Your current CPU really is the reason WoW is having such trouble, to be honest. You need to weigh whether the price difference between the 5080 and the 5070ti, or the even more affordable 9700xt, is worth it.

I’d personally pick the 9070xt, since I only play WoW and the performance boost versus price isn’t significant for me. The 9070xt is at least as good as a 5070ti now. Simply put, being even means the 5080 costs an extra 400 euros, but only gives a tiny 13% improvement.
