Hi everyone, my Samsung 970 EVO 500GB SDD is functioning well so far. It hasn’t shown any major problems. Two monitoring tools give conflicting updates, but one is quite concerning. HD Sentinals data suggests a decline, dropping from 22% to 19% in just two days—about a week and a half. I’ve noticed some older drives showing 0% or 100% life left, but this trend looks downward. The CrystalDiskImage shows results consistent with a typical 1-year lifespan. After writing 22.5TB, only about 2% spare capacity remains (the warranty says 5 years or 250TB written). I’ve backed up my files. What should I do next? Should I replace it or investigate further for other issues?

You might want to consider Samsung Magician for a second view. I think Crystaldisk is more likely, even though I haven't used that program before. After about 2.5 years with my 970 EVO Plus and 500GB storage,

It stopped working completely. A short while after, it fell to 7% with an urgent alert. Within ten minutes the machine failed to start and wouldn’t boot. The storage device remains listed, you can see its layout but can’t save anything. The system marks it as read-only and won’t let you change the access rights. If this happens, it’s time to replace it. Concerned that the image shows 98% health while the actual data from the drive is severely damaged.
