Discovering underwater worlds in video games.
Exploring the newly added Fontaine area in Genshin Impact sparked ideas about other games with deep underwater experiences. Additional suggestions include No Man's Sky and the Bioshock series, where the main story unfolds above water, though its expansions offer submerged adventures.
Beyond Subnautica, another distinct approach to underwater discovery is "In Still Waters," offering a completely digital viewpoint. It may not appeal to everyone, and I confess I quit after just a short time because the concept felt too distant and the experience lost its spark for my preferences, yet it has its own charm.
I long to relive the excitement of playing this game once more.
Spore spent some time underwater... evolution also had underwater scenes in Bioshock, though never fully submerged... GTA doesn’t seem to have any underwater parts...
I highly suggest this game. It arrived just a few days ago and offers around 22 hours of playtime. It’s much calmer and more laid-back compared to other titles. There’s some combat, but it’s not overly challenging and the boss fights are quite easy. It feels like a great way to introduce someone to more complex games while keeping things enjoyable for someone with a tired neck. Keep in mind it’s so relaxing you might drift off to sleep to the music. Edited October 6, 2023 by Aardvark_Tickler Added with extra details
