brown slot refers to the CPU socket. earlier models used their own printed circuit boards, such as Intel CPUs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slot_1). later I upgraded to Socket A AMD, which was comparable, and that CPU ran at 1000MHz Athlon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slot_A)

The port beside the IO is actually the CPU socket. Intel had that design for a brief period. CPUs were mounted on a separate board.
