Personally, my top picks were Metro 2033 and the Crysis titles. I also really enjoyed Spore: Ops, Battlefield, and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
Operates a naval vessel in a RIB, secures C4 for ships, triggers an explosion that saves the situation—though a teammate gives their life. Also, COD excels at fabricating conflicts among world powers. The scenario of China versus USA is clearly exaggerated; not focusing on complex layers here.
BF4 actually encourages singleplayer play to access certain items. Luckily, you can import a saved game and only modify the final section three times to obtain the three unlockable main weapons. Both BF3 and BF4 campaigns seem confusing and lack quality. They feel more like Call of Duty in terms of intensity, especially with the explosions. Overall, battlefield games either excel at multiplayer (like 1942, 2, 2142) or singleplayer (with some caveats), but rarely both. I don’t remember anyone dying in the final stretch; it probably happened because the carrier was destroyed too soon. This idea is strong; the implementation was solid, and it felt quite engaging. For a top-notch singleplayer campaign, try heavily modified Skyrim, Fallout 3, or Nevada 8... Half-Life: Paranoia is also worth checking out.
