Interestingly, the more harmful participants tend to stay near the bottom, I've been competitive for about sixty years and rarely see toxic behavior. However, I've heard that players around forty often act poorly.
I haven't faced that issue before. My concern is about the ranking system. Recently my graphics card stopped working and when the drivers failed initially it let me start the game and took 2 ranks. Now I'm just 4 ranks behind my teammate, putting us in "lvl 52 games" where everyone else is also at rank 52 with an average of 52. My team's ranks vary between 56 and 46 (sometimes a bit higher or lower) but we're around 52 on average. It seems we have an advantage to win, giving me about 25-50 points or a rank boost, while losing means losing 1 rank or more!
I must say I haven't played much ranked on Overwatch PC, but my experiences with the community hasn't been bad at all! And I mean AT ALL. NOTHING. So nah.
