Luke has repeatedly expressed his desire to move away from Windows 10 to Linux, citing concerns about Microsoft's practices. Although I deeply appreciate Linux and its various versions, the absence of strong game support and direct X compatibility makes it difficult for me to stay on Linux. I’m keen to use Ubuntu or Linux Mint as my primary operating system, especially since I own a high-end gaming PC with a $3000 budget. The Linux community offers limited choices for gaming, and options like WINE are unreliable, most games don’t run smoothly on OpenGL, dual-booting is cumbersome, and virtual machines aren’t ideal for performance. This inspired me to explore alternative ways to enjoy Linux as my main OS while still getting great gaming results. With Luke’s recent posts, I’m eager to see how he plans to achieve this. Are there any experienced users or forum members who have successfully switched away from Windows but managed to enjoy gaming? I hope the upcoming improvements with VulkanAPI and its OpenGL foundation will bring AAA titles to Linux with top-tier performance!
