Currently there are three main titles: Star Citizen Elite: Dangerous No Man's Sk~ HAHAHAHAHAHAA OH GOD, Star Citizen is still in development, and Elite: Dangerous is available now with open universe features. CQC is set to launch on PC soon, and planetary landings will appear later this year (or during the 2015 holiday season). If you can wait, choose Star Citizen. Want immediate action? Play Elite: Dangerous right away or grab both games. They cater to different tastes. As for NMS, it seems like Little Big Planet had a trio of popular titles—Minecraft, original Elite (1984), and now it's just a side note.
I’d suggest starting with Elite: Dangerous for now. It’s quite straightforward yet enjoyable, and developers are making steady progress. Star Citizen is worth keeping an eye on, but I wouldn’t invest until it launches fully—seems unlikely within the next few years.
Star C offers a charming appearance, but the gameplay options are quite restricted at the moment. To explore its features, check out some gameplay videos—like Scott Manley’s—and you’ll see it mainly consists of a hangar, a battle arena, and a race track with their respective modes. Another key point is the limited ship selection; unless you invest more real money (20-300 USD per ship) or generate enough income from the two available modes to rent additional ships temporarily.
