just a tube and two rubber chair leg ends (tube from a light fixture, chair ends from ebay $0.75 each), supporting a GPU not at the end, but between the second and third fans, which lessens the pressure on the GPU processor socket compared to placing it at the end. The overall cost for me is $1.50. More chair leg ends in various sizes can be bought at your local hardware store for around $1 each in a pack of four. They come in different diameters and are somewhat flexible, allowing you to fit different items inside. By chance, these chair leg ends appear to be an effective method for creating heavy-duty but non-marring stainless steel adjustable feet for outdoor storage containers, although that was just a side note.
Interesting DIY project, though I’d be cautious about those chair ends... rubber, plastic, whatever. I’m not sure how they’d hold up over time with temperature changes. Keep a close watch and make sure nothing melts or burns. Just my thoughts here.
