I’m planning to enhance my existing PC for Starfield (low-med setting). I believe upgrading the CPU and GPU would be the best fit given my current setup and available funds. Here are my current details:

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Motherboard - MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB DDR4 3600MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit (4 x 8GB)
GPU - AMD Radeon RX 5600XT
Power Supply - Corsair RM750 80+ Gold, fully Modular, 750W
Boot Drive - Western Digital Blue SN550 M.2 PCI-E NVMe SSD, 500GBOS
Windows 11
Monitor - LG 27MK400H-B (27 inch, 1080p, 60hz)
Approximate Purchase Date: within a month, no more than 2 months
Budget Range: $600 - $800 CAD (pre shipping)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming

Are you purchasing a monitor? No
Upgrade Items: CPU and GPU
Need OS purchase? No
Please note: If you have an OEM Windows license, you’ll need a new one for the new motherboard.
Preferred Parts Sources: Memory Express
Location: Canada
Parts Preferences: by brand or type (e.g., I’d like to switch to an Intel CPU)
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: No
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 will be upgraded to 144hz in two years. Unfortunately, I can’t afford a 4K system.
Additional Notes: I have some upgrade ideas.

Here is what I’m considering but am open to suggestions:
PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor
($284.99 @ Best Buy Canada)
Video Card: MSI GAMING X TRIO Radeon RX 6750 XT 12 GB

Total: $823.99

Just a note, if your RAM doesn’t support DDR4-3600Mhz, you should be able to upgrade once switching to the B550 chipset, which would enhance your 5800x setup significantly.

The Coolmaster Evo 212 is around 5 years old, but your setup is about 3 years old.

You should probably consider another cooler. 212 might manage a 5700x but is likely to struggle with a 5800x.
Just be ready.
Memory speed seems more connected to the CPU than the board. Running at 3600mhz on a B350 works just fine, and four sticks are fine too. The older 1600x at 3200mhz was a bit shaky, but 3700x handled it well, and at 5700x with four sticks at 3600mhz it’s quite stable.
This should be a big upgrade—going from a 3700x to a 5700x made a difference. I’ve overclocked the 5700x near 5800x, though it didn’t really show up in games; only benchmarks did, and temperatures rose slightly. Running a Deepcool AS500plus, I wish the AK640 or ak620 had been available when I built it.

Because the CPU is being upgraded and the platform is nearing the end of its life, I recommend a 5800X3D. This will help maximize the lifespan of the system.
The prices for the 6750XT and 7700XT are quite similar, as mentioned earlier. I plan to save up and purchase both the 5800X3D and 7700XT.

I wouldn't recommend a soda machine as an alternative to a water cooler.

I'm really satisfied with Deepcool, but the AK620 or Assassin III would be the top choice. The AK400 is another good option, similar to what was mentioned before but at half the price. Fuma2, there are many great coolers available, just need to check the case height compatibility.
