Hello,

I am experiencing microphone lag issues when playing Fortnite with friends on Discord. Their voices become distorted and I cannot hear them clearly. However, this problem does not occur when playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Can you assist me?

Many users experience this problem, which is not related to Fortnite itself but to the Epic Games Launcher. Some have reported that initiating a direct voice call with friends through the launcher can resolve the lag issue. Another potential solution is to enable Push to Talk in Fortnite and see if that addresses the problem. Alternatively, attempting this with Discord might provide a solution, though it would require constant button pressing during conversations, which is undesirable for gamers. Currently, there’s no official fix available.

Check your microphone audio settings in Fortnite. Some games require you to set the mic to push-to-talk when using Discord to prevent echo or other issues.

Check audio settings for the microphone in Fortnite. Some games require push-to-talk on Discord to prevent echo or other issues, though mobile Discord use shouldn't be a factor.

They experience wireless connectivity problems, including audio cut-offs or lag. To achieve optimal sound quality, they must utilize a wired LAN connection.

Wireless connectivity causes audio problems like cutouts or lag, requiring a LAN connection for optimal sound quality. This issue is not due to their equipment; it's my problem. Discord experiences a significant ping increase when launching Fortnite, but this only occurs while playing that game; other games maintain consistent ping levels.

Then you might need to check your Fortnite audio settings if they are similar to the other game.
