I don’t usually focus on privacy matters, so the intel exploit topic isn’t something I want to address. Turning Windows to a metered connection blocks non-essential updates, but it doesn’t stop security patches like the one Microsoft is releasing that affects Intel CPUs. I’m looking for ways to disable Windows updates completely. Is there a method to achieve that?
Ensure you're using Windows 10. Open Services.msc, find Windows Update, stop it, then click Properties and change startup type to Disable. Apply the changes and restart your PC.
