Hello, I pressed the clear CMOS button by accident while my computer was running. The machine turned off and after a short pause I restarted it. Everything appears to function normally now. I’m curious if this might have caused any damage and whether there’s anything specific I should check or avoid. Online advice suggests unplugging the PC before doing it, but I can’t find clear guidance on what could happen if I power it back on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m using a Mag Z790 Tomahawk Wi-Fi motherboard.

If it didn't revert back to stock settings, then don't worry about it

The clear CMOS button will erase all custom settings you've saved, such as XMP/EXPO features. This ensures your PC remains safe. You may also want to revisit your UEFI (BIOS) and turn on XMP/EXPO, adjust fan settings or other configurations you previously made.
