Disable Efficiency mode on Windows 11 by adjusting power settings or using system preferences.
Hello there! I'm looking for a way to completely disable this piece of shit called Efficiency mode. I'm talking about this green leaf thing in task manager. Spoiler The problem is, it always puts my active Firefox tabs to efficiency mode. My laptop is quite trash, an i3 so I would really like if it didn't throttle my applications. I want to have see how it does without it. Also, the reason I know it puts my active tabs to efficiency mode is because the number of sub-processes in efficiency mode are always equal to the number of tabs I have open. I just closed a tab and it got rid of a process in efficiency mode, again confirming its the same process. Spoiler firefox_uNKOpYN4Z3.mp4 Is there any way to have Windows not do this? And yes I have tried to remove the processes' efficiency mode but it gets back after a few seconds. Spoiler Thank you for reading this post, and I appreciate any help. Have a good day! And yes I do wish I never upgraded to W11.
Didn't manage to find the info you were seeking. Checked the link you shared for details on adjusting efficiency settings in Windows 11.
The post doesn<|pad|> to explain how to turn off Efficiency mode completely. It mentions that for certain apps, you can disable it, and Windows automatically restores efficiency after a short time. Toward the end, it notes something unusual because I didn’t request this action. There’s a setting in Task Manager that asks permission before applying Efficiency mode, but I’ve already chosen it. Thank you for your response!
I checked the available details and couldn<|pad|> to locate a system-wide disable option. The information I found was per application, which you mentioned isn't functioning properly. It seems an update might have removed the ability to turn it off completely.
It's not Windows enabling Efficiency Mode, it's Firefox. The release notes clarify that Firefox initiates the process by moving tabs out of the focused, background state into Efficiency mode. When you choose a tab, it should exit Efficiency mode automatically.
Thank you! It helped guide me to the correct area and I was able to locate a Reddit discussion on the same problem. The fix in the comments is effective and I’ve stopped Firefox from doing that behavior. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comment...t/j3mc43t/
