Disable automatic driver installation in Windows settings.
I think the issue likely comes from using Microsoft's basic drivers rather than the manufacturer's official ones. EDIT: Some devices don<|pad|>, and those that use manufacturer drivers don't update themselves automatically.
I understand your frustration. It seems like your system and license restrictions are preventing you from doing what you wish.
These drivers are fundamental components needed for the device to function properly. They provide essential capabilities, such as allowing a low-resolution image to display when the Nvidia drivers are disabled. The specific software and extension tools they offer can vary, but they generally aim to maintain basic performance. If you need help removing unwanted drivers while retaining the recommended one, let me know what you're experiencing.
Windows Update turned off successfully! This seems like a solid temporary solution. I still want to remove drivers from Windows Update, but it doesn’t seem to respond to the Group Policy option I found. It appears the setting isn’t being applied properly.
I really dislike the Realtek Audio Drivers. They come with a lot of issues that make using them frustrating. Usually I'd rely on the ones Windows installs automatically, but this has been my first computer where the manufacturer's software is completely unreliable. Fortunately, @Mel0nMan shared a reliable workaround that I'll keep using until Microsoft offers a proper fix.
