Many titles still lack real benefits from Direct X 12, and those that claim improvements often don’t deliver noticeable gains beyond standard settings. The technology hasn’t yet proven a significant impact on performance, and its adoption remains limited. It may indeed be evolving further before becoming widely effective.

Developers are probably still mastering the API or building game engines around it. I haven’t used it myself and don’t have anyone who can share their thoughts, so I can’t judge how challenging it is. It’s been a challenge even with previous versions of the API.
