What's happening now? It looks like the update is still pending. Once it's released, you can download it. As for mobile GPUs like the 980M, they should work once the update is available.

Like DirectX 10 being available only on Vista, it seems to work on XP too. I’ll check if DirectX 12 can install on Windows 7 soon, and if so, it could make Windows 7 a decent gaming platform for a while.
