Hi! Im bothered and torn between choosing Gen 4 or Gen 5. Im planning to buy a new gaming rig by November-December. Im currently running Ryzen 5 2600 x RX 570; I had this since 2018 that's why im planning to build a completely new one (I'll be giving this to my lil sister instead; so no parts out) Im from the Philippines (This might matter when it comes to prices)
My preferences are: Would like to try 1440p, i mostly prefer AMD (CPU and GPU, but you can try and change my mind), im looking for performance and future proof. Planning to play same God Of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Throne and Liberty, Valorant, Dota LOL and the likes. So its pretty scattered lol.
Here's my choices: (Would translate the prices into $)
AM4:
Ryzen 5 5600 @ $99 / Ryzen 5 5600x @ $103
MSI Pro-VDH B550M @ $109 / Gigabyte B550M DS3H @ $103 / Asrock B550M Pro 4 @ $97
T-Force TUF Delta RGB DDR4 3200 Mhz 16GBx2 @ $88
Gigabyte Radeon RX 7700 XT Gaming OC 12GB @ $510 / PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6750 XT @ $350 / Asus Dual Radeon RX 6750 XT @ $417
Corsair RM 750e @ $128
= $930-950
AM5:
Ryzen 5 7600 + MSI Pro B650M-A Wifi Bundle @ $388
TForce Delta RGB DDR5 6000MHz 16GBx2 @ $118
Gigabyte Radeon RX 7700 XT Gaming OC 12GB @ $510
Corsair RM 750e @ $128
= $1144
DarkFlash DK415M
DarkFlash DN360 AIO Cooler
Now, im considering the AM5 because im thinking of future-proofing. (Not that i will upgrade, based on my exp most of the time i don't, not unless needed) but more of the longevity of the rig. I would like this rig to survive for like 5-6 years and be able to play at least medium on 1440p during that time. That's the only reason. Do you think the difference in price and the specs itself justify my reason?
Please help me make my mind. Feel free to change some of the parts if you think there's a better option. Here's the pricelist i was looking to:
Pricelist
and most of the parts are from there, if you don't see it there then its from Facebook Marketplace.
Hope you can help me. Thanks!

IMO, if you were going to stick to AM4 there would be no reason to buy a whole new platform. It would be the "thrifty" solution, but also might eliminate the give (to sister).
All new platform? Hands down AM5.

My two pesos: Choose the more powerful chip. When uncertain, it’s wiser to opt for the superior or pricier choice. If you go with the cheaper one, the short-term savings will be satisfying. But you’ll always question whether you made the right decision. In either scenario, when the November/December period arrives, you’ll have more options. New Intel chips might suit you, or they could affect the cost of existing AM5 models. Keep an eye on things. You’ll receive recommendations for a X3D processor with its advantages and drawbacks. Today’s processor choices from AMD or Intel are similar in price-performance. As many will say, there’s no true future-proofing. New releases tend to be better or more affordable. Or your requirements might shift. If you’re aiming for a 1440P display, do you need a monitor? If yes, stretch your budget for a quality one. A monitor is among the few items that stand out as future-proof. Consider a 850w power supply with a 10 or 12-year warranty. Modern graphics cards can handle voltage spikes beyond their nominal levels, and a robust PSU can make up for it. Also check the NVIDIA lineup in graphics. There’s no essential advantage to pairing an AMD graphics card with an AMD processor. Here is Tom's GPU hierarchy chart.

Zero reason to buy AM4 in 2024 unless you're doing an extreme budget build. AM5 is the way to go.

I enjoyed that "2 pesos" XD
Appreciate your comments. Your suggestions were taken into account.
Regarding the monitor, yes, I made that selection. It works well for both my PC and PS5. The model is the LG 27GP850BN, priced around $315 to $320.
For the GPU, I actually decided on this one after researching. A 6750XT would have been cheaper, and the $100-120 range (about $150 in the Philippines) seems reasonable. The 7700XT isn’t worth that much, as I was advised. It’s a better option but not significantly more expensive.

The 7700xt is roughly comparable in performance to an RX 6800. It might be worth checking for a reasonable price on it.

Yeah. That's another option for me too. But here in the Philippines, it's really tough to find something brand new. Even the 6750XT is scarce.
