Are changes in Windows 8/7 versions influencing speed? I'm not comparing Win 7 to Win 8, just different editions. For instance, a Win 7 Ultimate seems faster than Win 7 Pro? What's the reason behind this question? I'm considering purchasing the most affordable Windows 7/8 version and upgrading to Windows 10 through a free update, assuming the price of Windows 10 exceeds that of the older versions.

It specifies the components of the operating system. A 64-bit OS is required for systems with over 4GB RAM.

These features do affect performance. I'm aware of the 64-bit aspect.

You likely see a boost in FPS on Windows 8, while other systems don't.
