Mostly the "max" configuration includes the bios that back zen 2 (third-gen Ryzen) and they’re roughly comparable.

It doesn't seem logical since the Tomahawk already has BIOS flashback, so just connect power cables and use a USB drive with the updated BIOS. However, if the cost is very low, opt for the MAX version. In the UK, the MAX is significantly cheaper than the non-MAX, but I’d likely choose the mortar-MAX now.

It makes sense for the maker because the item is essentially the same but with a different name, which would be advantageous for them.
