Your graphics card performs well and won't require an upgrade for a while. Of course, it will eventually reach average performance, just like other hardware. You've made a smart investment—your money was well spent. The only upgrade you might consider later is a new CPU in 2-3 years, which isn't a realistic timeline.

Using a controller in a game that demands exact aiming feels really frustrating. An Xbox can't run art or 3D software, let alone much else except for games and streaming services.

The situation looks promising for the next couple of years with your current hardware. You can likely extend your system's lifespan by replacing parts every few years, and upgrading the motherboard and CPU will keep everything running smoothly. For older games, the GPU should handle demanding titles well, though you might need a CPU upgrade eventually. The Ryzen 3000 series is expected to be reasonably priced by then, so don’t worry about missing out.

More often than not, PC games cost less, giving you better value over time. Also, using an AMD 4th generation setup lets you upgrade your CPU and GPU, ensuring a solid system for years ahead.

It's great to hear! In two years I should have enough to upgrade the processor at least. It's nice knowing I chose AMD. Up to the R9 models use AM4, so in the next couple of years I might be able to buy an R9, possibly with more RAM and a GPU upgrade when needed. Thanks for the support everyone!

I hope you got a good board. Could you tell me which one you have?

I often think about certain hardware decisions from time to time. Really excited about this. But once the Xbox launches and people enjoy it, new PC upgrades will follow—and then (like me) my interest will pick up again... It's normal for many to feel this way, but hardware keeps evolving. It's just a cycle, and I hope the main takeaway is that it's a mindset you can shift once you experience it a few times and see how it keeps repeating.

It isn’t as polished as on the PC, but backward compatibility appears to be a major focus for Xbox. Although it requires effort from Microsoft, the next-gen version should be simpler, the 360 is well supported, and some original Xbox games are still available, such as Star Wars Battlefront.

Uncertain about its availability, but Gigabyte's B450 boards tend to perform poorly. Running a 6-core or 8-core processor might work at stock settings without overclocking, but it would struggle significantly with 10 or 12 cores.
