I just bought a bigger piece of RAM for my ASUS GL553VE gaming laptop, changing from 1GB to 2GB of DDR4 memory at 3200MHz. I got the link to buy it here: https://www.kingston.com/en/memory/gamin...dr4-memory When I turned on the computer after installing this new RAM, I saw just the ASUS logo and then a black screen. If I put in the old RAM, everything works fine, but with the new one, it only shows a black screen even though the fan is spinning and the keyboard lights up. I tried updating the BIOS version but that didn't help either. I also started the laptop using just one stick of RAM to see if that fixed anything. Do you know what else could be causing this problem so my new memory works? Thanks in advance!

Can you tell me which exact type of memory stick your computer has? That website isn't giving enough clear details. It might be because that laptop needs a specific speed, say CL17, but the Kingston RAM doesn't match that number (they only make it 16 or 20).

Honestly, I think it makes no sense to say it won't work. Why wouldn't you just test those Kingston sticks on a different laptop and see if they're bad?

That high-speed RAM stick is actually the key piece of gear you need for this upgrade, but it requires a specific voltage called 1.35v. It also needs to be the correct type, which is CAS 16, and there could be other small differences too. You can find more details on where to buy this at this link: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgra...og-gl553ve
