My Windows 10 system experienced some problems, and upon checking, I noticed Explorer was dealing with a memory leak, consuming all of my committed memory. Restarting resolved that issue, but then I received a system alert. I was concerned because I had turned off most non-essential notifications, thinking it might be malware or a failing drive. Instead, I saw an ad promoting Avowed Premium Edition. How can I disable this? It’s frustrating when my own OS keeps showing me ads for games I don’t care about, especially during work or screen recording.

On the bottom-right, it resembled a typical Windows notification. Searching online suggests it originates from Windows itself, not an application.

Is the Epic gaming service activated? That's where their game alerts appear.

I joined the action.
I saw this happen on a Win10 VM that I had been idle in for quite some time, starting around 2021. It was running on a QEMU setup. This was essentially a minimal Windows setup. The only steps I took were to open the GUI and install the latest Windows update.
A notification bar appeared, offering me the chance to disable future suggestions.
