Did you perform a system restore after the inaccessible boot device BSOD, and are there additional issues now?
I don't have a clear idea of what changed recently that led to the Inaccessible Boot Device BSOD after rebooting.
I performed a system restore from earlier this week, but some software now won't run. Notepad can't open via 'Run' or the start menu, and I found two files during the search.
I'm considering restoring to a previous backup or doing a fresh install.
I've added a few new programs or disabled certain Autorun settings, including the Acronis service, even though I didn't want it running. Now I might need to use the software to restore, but I can't go back before the installation.
I'm uncertain about the cause—could Windows be having issues? Or are there problems with specific software or firmware?
What should I check next?
There are multiple possibilities. Both software and hardware might be involved.
Software aspects:
* corrupted operating system
* malicious software
* driver conflicts
Hardware concerns:
* failing operating system drive
* malfunctioning motherboard (MoBo)
* issues with the M.2/SATA slot where your OS is connected
I reached out to the manufacturer since I'm still covered by warranty. However, they may only verify the issue and reinstall it, unless they decide to replace the hardware.
