Hey everyone. I got this laptop from Best Buy, and you can check out the link: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-sword-1...Id=6464556. I'm wondering if anyone else has this model and what's their experience like? I haven't used mine for even a year yet, so it feels like it's failing me right now. It used to run all games at 100 frames per second up until about a month ago. But lately in World of Warcraft or even Minecraft, my game drops down to just one or fifteen frames, basically freezing the screen for ten to thirty seconds. That happens maybe once every five minutes. Last weekend I had a bunch of flickering screens and BSOD crashes. I don't really know how computers work, but I'm pretty sure it's like a $800 lemon. To my knowledge, it's not worth spending money on replacing parts in this laptop, even though I could be wrong. The link https://ibb.co/2qS4NcF shows the temps, and what do you guys think? Are these temperatures hot? Any advice from anyone who owns this?

I sprayed the keyboard and checked the ports before getting started. It was really open underneath, so that part looked super clean. I even bought some tools just to be sure I could take it apart easily.

I saw this link on my phone. I wanted to check if those screen temps are still high, right now. I was playing World of Warcraft and it started lagging. It wasn't doing a smooth 120 frames per second anymore. The game feels much slower than usual lately.

I took it apart, made a tiny bit of dust fly around, and it's exactly how it felt before.

hey everyone, here is my old post - I just took this thing apart, blew some dust out, not much but i'm getting the same results with lower fps and a very hot cpu. The max temp on my laptop is around 100c. What should be the next step to fix this? Also, are the cpu and gpu connected together? Is it worth just buying a new laptop?

So, maybe we should check what's going on behind the scenes taking over all our computer power. Do you still have your antivirus set up, and did you run a virus check on it recently using Malwarebytes?

I only use built-in Windows scan settings. I don't have Norton or any other software installed. I regularly check out the full scan option.

Yeah, so Windows built-in virus protection isn't that great. You know why security companies have been around for 20 years? Well, I use Kaspersky Total Security and it's what I tell people to use. NO antivirus can catch everything perfectly, but you still need something to do. Bit Defender is also pretty good, and I think AVG (the paid version) works too. I don't like Norton personally. You should probably start by downloading Malwarebytes, make sure it's fully updated, then run a full scan on your computer. See what comes up or not.

I'm gonna check on Kaspersky right now. I just downloaded MalwareBytes too. It took about two minutes to scan all those things—roughly 230,000 of them—and found nothing! No problems.
