I bought the Crucial 8GB DD4 2666 SODIMM for my laptop. Now it shows as single rank, but the CPU says my current RAM is also single rank. However, the RAM I’m about to receive is Single Rank Times 8. Is this okay? Could it affect performance or compatibility? Please let me know. Thank you.

I don’t know anything except if a faster RAM is available, maybe I should consider getting it. Idk.

Only one level and two levels shouldn't affect the average buyer.

Maintain the same 2666mhz setting, keep the single rank, everything should work fine.

Arson exists, but the concept of Single Rank times 1 is unclear.

This seems confusing. The RAM is labeled as 8GB, but Amazon prices it higher than similar products that advertise a capacity of 8GB.

1Rx8 indicates a configuration with 8 chips arranged in one row. An 8GB memory featuring 1 rank contains 8 chips, each holding 1GB. 2Rx8 suggests 16 chips, each with a 500MB capacity.

It seems the 8GB model is priced higher even though it's identical. I'm still trying to understand why. Thanks for your help!
