Did you get stuck on PC and mouse when playing games?
Hello, about a month ago my PC started freezing while I played League of Legends. My mouse stopped working, so I had to turn off the computer every time. I could not move my keyboard or use it at all; everything felt locked up. I took my PC to a repair shop and they said my SSD was too hot and causing the problem. They told me that the old M2 SSD (Gigabyte Aorus 500GB) was overheating. So, I replaced my SSD with a new Samsung 980PRO 1TB drive. The shop also cleaned my PC completely and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10. For six days after changing it out, I played games normally without any issues. But yesterday, the computer froze again when I tried to play League of Legends. My mouse and keyboard didn't work anymore, forcing me to shut down the PC. After restarting my computer, I also tried playing PUBG. Half an hour later, the PC froze once more with the same problem: no mouse or keyboard. I don't know what is wrong because I tried many different fixes online but none of them worked. The temperature of my PC looks fine on a thermometer, so that's not the issue. Here are all my computer specs: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (3.8 GHz) with 12 cores and an NZXT Kraken X62 liquid cooler; an Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard with Wi-Fi; G.Skill Trident Z RGB RAM running at 3200 MHz for 32GB total memory; a Western Digital WD_BLACK hard drive; an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card; an NZXT H710 case; and a Corsair RM850 PSU.
What all the fixing attempts did you do before to make sure we never have to try it again?
I took my computer to a service shop and they tested it using a game benchmark. Everything works fine on that test. I tried several different websites but none fixed the issue. Now I have turned Game Mode on, so I will check if that helps too. My power plan is set to normal, and I disabled the record feature. I also removed some apps from my startup list. I bought a new monitor called an Alienware AW2521HFA, so maybe it's actually that one causing the problem?
Sorry, no help here. But I just bought this exact monitor: AW2521HFA with a 240hz refresh rate. Before that, I used 75hz and everything worked fine. Now, these freezing issues keep happening to me every time. It's happened three times already. I looked around everywhere looking for a fix. I don't think the problem is the monitor itself, but maybe we'll see what happens 🙁
