Hey everyone, just wanted to share that I recently added some new components to my PC and encountered a booting issue. Here are my specs: I purchased a new GPU (Sapphire Nitro Plus + 7900 XTX), a fresh PSU (Seasonic TX 1000 Prime), and upgraded my RAM (two 32GB Patriot Steel Viper modules). After setting everything up and making the necessary changes, the PC wouldn’t power on. I tried jump-starting the PSU to verify it worked, which it did. Then I connected everything one by one, and the system booted normally until I plugged in the GPU. Once the GPU was connected, it stopped powering on entirely. The only exception was when I connected the AC cable or turned the PSU power switch on—then the motherboard would flash a single light, but the PC’s power switch wouldn’t respond.

I’ve gone through various troubleshooting steps and have experience fixing many PCs before, so I’m confident the problem lies with the GPU. I think I’ll remove it now and replace it when I get home. If anyone has ideas or needs further guidance, please let me know. I’ll keep an eye on this thread while I’m at work and will try any suggestions upon returning.

Thanks in advance to all.

I reviewed the entire no boot troubleshoot guide on the site until the breadboarding section. I used a wire to jump start the PSU to verify it works. I also tried booting with all the new components except the GPU, using my old 1080, and it functions properly.

I don't recall precisely because they span many years, but I'm fairly certain you have two Seagate 2 tb hybrid drives, with one SSD being a Samsung 850 and the other a 950 Pro.

If it boots properly with your 1080, this significantly reduces the possible causes. It's highly probable the issue lies with the 7900 xtx or the connection method on your motherboard. Are you using the same slot for the 1080 as you are for the new GPU?

You upgraded PSU.
Did you also change all the modular cables to those from new PSU?
Modular PSU cables usually are not compatible between different PSU models.
Using wrong modular PSU cables can kill/damage hardware connected.
Can you show a photo of your system with side panel removed?

That's my line of thought too, yes I am using the same slot, to me it seems like a GPU problem

I made sure to use the new cables that came with the new PSU. I'm currently at work without any saved pictures, but I'll take one later today.
