Over the past while, I've observed that during the night or when I return home unexpectedly, my computer remains active even though it was put to sleep. Testing recently by disconnecting the RJ-45 cable, it hasn't done so. Today, after leaving the cable in, it woke up just five seconds after I powered it down. Is something interfering? No other unusual activity has occurred... what might be happening here?
Checked the device manager and adjusted the Ethernet controller settings. Power Management options were modified, and the advanced settings were changed. The 'Wake on magic packet' feature was disabled. It seems this action didn’t trigger it. I’m wondering if you thought I might have made a mistake. Would you say it sounds more like the WOL problem?
Turning off the BIOS settings is a reliable method to resolve issues, as suggested for similar problems. This ensures stability regardless of operating system changes or corruption.
I'll review the BIOS settings as well. Thanks! Let's see if it functions properly.
It seems unlikely. Your computer could be powering on if a LAN connection is recognized.
