I might have made a huge mistake with the AMD FX-8370 4 GHz 8-core processor I was talking about. A friend asked me what CPU I had bought for $50, and I told him I got an AMD FX 9370. He said I messed up and now I feel really confused about how bad I went.
For that cost it's not bad, but... it's quite outdated and wasn't great from the start. If it came with a motherboard, it's a decent offer, but if you were planning to purchase one yourself... don't
I’m really disappointed about this. I thought I could record Minecraft, but it seems the system won’t let me. I have the motherboard (MSI 970), RAM (2x4GB), a cooler (Corsair H100i v2 70.69 CFM), and a CPU for 150. After reading that, I realized I made a huge mistake. If I try to sell it, the only thing I could earn is from the RAM, which is selling for $45.
Could be worse, you may have gotten something a bit better for your money if you had asked here before buying but now that you have it there's no use in worrying. It's fine for a low budget system. You're lucky it came with a beefy cooler because those things run h o t .
Sell your Mobo RAM and CPU for $100. This should get you a great beginning with AMD Ryzen, which are significantly better. Search for used Ryzen 3 models (1200/1300X/2200G/3200G) priced up to $65 and Ryzen 5 models (1400/1500/1600/2400G) up to $75, plus a used motherboard under $50. Otherwise, a B450 board around $65 should suffice.
